Hehehe. Try #2. Well, the journey to the library didn't happen (but I was able to go out and buy a coat! it's pretty cool--it's GREEN which is really fun :D lol it gets cold around here in the fall, but I'll spare you all the details at the moment for WHY I got this coat. lol) ah, where was I...? oh! yeah, I'm writing an intro to this blog. (can someone say ADD moment? haha) The boys are both busy with school, so the house is just about as quiet as it gets (when the boys are awake anyway!)...and I THINK I can stay focused on writing this now. ;-)
So yes, now my reasons for creating this blog. There are so many things I do, see and hear, and things I want to share with people, but sending out a mass email of my own thoughts on something is just TOTALLY awkward!! LOL! So this is a way I can just write things out, and (hopefully!!) provoke others to thought. I am a Christian, so it is also my hope that through this, I'll be able to challenge other Christians toward godliness, and that they will be encouraged in their walk with God. :-) Life is full of lessons--some in depth that provoke you to examine the state of your own life, and others something as simple and practical as learning to GET YOURSELF A COAT SO YOU WON'T FREEZE! I hope though, that you will be patient with me, as I've never done a blog before, and I'm still figuring out how this all works!
The name of this blog "Dandelions Dust" comes from a verse in the Bible: 1st Peter 1:24-- “People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades. But the word of the Lord remains forever.” We are like fleeting shaddows in the span of history. We are like dust that is blown away in an instant. Whatever outward beauty we have isn't going to last--it's all going to go away sometime before we turn 90...and we have to remember that ONLY ONE THING is going to last--and that is the Word of God, which never changes. :-) While we fade and deminish with time, God is EXACTLY the same. :-) So let's remember, we are dust. yep. DUST. As one of my friends put it: We are but dust that God breathed on. ouch. >.< that's humbling. But the fact is, God loves us, he treasures each of us, and he forgives us! Wow!! He didn't call us because of something WE DID. WE ARE DUST! WE ARE, on our own, PATHETIC! But in His mercy, he has called us His own, and HE is the one who gives us value, meaning, and significance! Dandelions dust is a reminder to me of how fleeting life is, but it's also a reminder of how, despite all of our failings, God loves us. :-)
So....WELCOME TO DANDELIONS DUST!! :D I hope you will be uplifted and encouraged as you read!

Oh, for an hour of peace and quiet!! (gotta love little boys!)
I'm trying to blog. The key word in this being "TRY"!!!! ergie. here I sit in my kitchen, trying to write out some sort of intro to this blog with two little boys driving police cars around me, making little boys noises as loud as they can, and yelling. Hmm. And so I tell my mom that "I'M GOING TO GET DRESSED AND GO TO THE LIBRARY!". To which she says, "WHY?! CAN'T YOU JUST WORK ON YOUR BLOG HERE AT HOME?" ergie. this is not working too well. So, just now mom turns to me and shouts (so as to be heard above the boys), "HAHAHAHA! NO WONDER YOU CAN'T THINK CLEARLY HERE AT HOME!" as I sit here surrounded by boys just acting like BOYS and doing little boy things. (heh, they are only 6 and 5, so let's face it, they are going to be noisy.)
WHEW! anyhow, I'm going to bag this whole "let's write an intro to a blog" thing RIGHT NOW. I'll work on it later....
When all is calm, QUIET, and peaceful at the library.
